This is probably one of my top 5 pieces from the last 5 years. It was done as a preliminary sketch for my first large scale acrylic painting in 8 years, that I’m currently working on. 

“LIMBO”

Caught between two worlds
Worlds of my own design
I sit and ponder the stars
I ask myself for a sign

Who am I without the pressures
The distractions and the pride
I look off into the distance
And see the child inside

The scapegoat of the tribe
The beaten and the mirror
Do I let the child die
Or do I help him see clearer

Do I keep sitting idle
Or do I move toward the one
The one that created this gift
That replaces the unconscious with sun

Here I am laid bare
Neither choice is wrong
But a choice I must make
Before my time is gone

So I’ll choose to see him prosper
That forgotten one inside
I can’t wait to meet him again
As one we will abide
